Although we will have discussed the aftercare process in person, here is all the instructions you need to look after
your new tattoo.
**If you do have any queries or need help with anything, don't hesitate to get in touch!**
×Remember your tattoo is an open wound, it can be prone to infections, especially if NOT
CARED for properly!×
×So please read these instructions carefully
and follow them so your tattoo will heal correctly!×
×You will leave our tattoo studio with your new tattoo wrapped in cling film. We recommend that you keep this on for 1-2 hours×
×You DO NOT need to wrap the tattoo up again! After you remove the wrap, make sure you dispose of it properly in a bin!×
**It is now time to wash your new tattoo**
×Make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly before and after cleaning your fresh tattoo. ×
×Use mild, antibacterial soap to clean your tattoo. DO NOT use scented or perfumes post-it WILL STING×
×Do NOT scrub your tattoo or immerse it in water!×
×Use lukewarm water to clean the tattoo, do not put it under hot water!×
×DO NOT wipe or rub your new ink! Use kitchen roll & pat it dry!×
×Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a day, Morning & Night at least!×
**ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT YOUR HANDS ARE CLEAN BEFORE TOUCHING YOUR TATTOOS**
×Let the tattoo dry out as much as possible for 1-3 days, when it starts itching, apply a small amount of the cream!×
×Apply a thin layer of your aftercare cream to the tattoo, make sure that it is rubbed in properly!×
**We recommend Palmer's Cocoa Butter as an aftercare cream, please consult us before using another cream on your tattoo!**
×DO NOT over moisturise your tattoo! It is like any other wound, if it is suffocated, it will not heal propely and will likely have more problems×
×Certain places on the body will heal differently than others and some may be dryer for longer, so keep using aftercare cream for as long as you need!×
**We advise that healing a tattoo fully takes between 2 to 4 weeks**
×Within 4-6 days, your tattoo will begin to peel and flake. This can be scary as it looks like the tattoo is falling off-IT IS NOT! So don't worry×
×Let the scabs fall off on their own! DO NOT pick or scratch them! Put cream on or distract yourself!×
×Picking at the scabs or scratching will lead to loss of ink in the tattoo. Artists can tell if a tattoo has been picked!×
